A Simple Way to Enjoy Acai in New Zealand | Sambazon Acai Bar
Hello, this is Chietomonji.
Summer is approaching here in New Zealand — it feels like the very start of the season.
Lately, I’ve noticed acai slowly starting to gain popularity in New Zealand. It doesn’t seem to be available everywhere just yet, but I have a feeling more stores will begin stocking it in the near future.
The other day, I picked up a 100g pack — and it turned out to be surprisingly good. I’ve been enjoying it every night lately as an after-dinner dessert.
If you throw it into your lunch bag, it works nicely as a cooling pack too. Let it soften just a little, and that’s when it tastes best.
I usually take it out of the pack, transfer it into a cup, and warm it in the microwave for about 20 seconds. It melts just slightly and reaches a perfect texture.
After heating, I stir it vigorously with a spoon until it becomes a sherbet-like consistency — that’s my favorite way to eat acai. Holding the cup, sitting back on the sofa, and enjoying it slowly is one of the most relaxing moments of my day.
The only downside to this method is that the cup gets pretty messy once you’re done.
That said, you can also eat it straight from the pack as an ice bar, which works just as well.
I’m officially hooked on acai.
